The boys have been busy again this week!

In Maths we have continued to develop our mental skills when adding tricky numbers and we have begun to think about decimals. We have worked hard on the formal, written method, with much success!

In English we have continued to read The Butterfly Lion and we have now completed Chapter 3. Using the descriptions, mainly of people, the boys had completed as Homework we had an extremely interesting lesson. The boys swapped descriptions with each other and they drew the image as they imagined it, taking note of all the intricate details. We had some very amusing pictures to reflect and analyse. In our grammar lesson we have continued to work on capital letters for proper nouns and in comprehension, the use of full sentences.

In our quest to learn more about the Romans we have focused on Boudicca this week and we have understood her role in fighting the Romans.

In Geography we have looked at the British Isles and understand where Lochinver is located in relation to the rest of the country.

Food has continued to dominate our Science lessons and this week we have looked at the Food Pyramid and learnt the different food groups and the foods within these.

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow at our Open Day.

What a photo finish!

We mark the end of this second full week with individual photographs. All the boys looked so smart!

This week in Maths we have focused on adding and subtracting multiples of 9, 19, 11, and 21 from 2 and 3 digit numbers. Next week we will look at formal addition methods.

We have read Chapter 2 from ‘The Butterfly Lion’ and we have answered questions relating to this.

In Science we have looked at why we need to eat. The boys made posters to explain all the reasons why we must eat.
