Thank you so much for all of your kind wishes and generous gifts.  I was totally overwhelmed this morning (and unable to speak to say thank you!).  I have loved teaching your sons and watching them grow and develop this year.  They are a super bunch of boys and I will miss them all!  It’s also been a real privilege to teach alongside Mrs Cortes, Mrs Rose and Mrs Owens – they are amazing and I will also miss them terribly!

3R had a very calming mindfulness session this afternoon with Tricia Jones. We spent time focusing on our senses and becoming a frog yoda!

Over half term the boys were asked to create a persuasive, factual presentation about an endangered animal of their choice. The year group would then vote for their favourite animal to be sponsored through the WWF. I have been so impressed by the amount of research completed, quality and organisation of facts (posters and PowerPoint presentations) and passionate deliveries.

It was a very close vote but Year 3 has decided to sponsor the giant panda (3R) and the Amur leopard  (3CO).

Well done to everyone! Outstanding effort!

Wow… what an amazing collection of creative, colourful characters! Well done 3R (and parents!).

This week the boys worked industriously on creating 3D monsters or Iron Man models, using materials collected over half term. I was really impressed with their creativity, resourcefulness, patience and support of each other. Bravo 3R!

We have had an exciting couple of weeks creating a new biscuit to market! We have worked collaboratively on our recipes, baking and decorating, designing and making packaging and finally creating and filming an advert. We are all looking forward to watching the final clips on Wednesday and voting for our favourites.

On Saturday 4th Feb, the boys took part in the National School Chess Zonal Championships and they did extremely well. Huge congratulations!

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and wish to thank you all greatly for your support and generosity. We were overwhelmed with kind words and wonderful gifts.

It was lovely to welcome everyone back to School on Thursday. It is amazing how quickly the boys have adapted to the routine at School.

Next week we look forward to tackling division and we will start our new text which is The Iron Man.
